Ghana Is Safe and Stable Amidst Ammunition Concerns – Defence Minister Reassures Citizens

Ghana’s Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah assures Ghanaians of national stability and peace. This comes despite concerns about unaccounted military ammunition transfers in 2024.

Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has confidently declared that the nation remains safe, stable, and peaceful. This is despite growing concerns over military ammunition accountability.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series held in Accra on Monday, July 21, Dr. Boamah addressed public concerns over internal security. He also talked about the recent revelation about an irregular transfer of military ammunition.

This reassurance comes in the wake of public outcry over the 2024 transfer of thousands of rounds of ammunition from the Ghana Armed Forces to the National Security outfit. This ammunition has reportedly not yet been fully accounted for.

Acknowledging the seriousness of the issue, Dr. Boamah made it clear that the government has not overlooked the situation.

As public interest in national security grows, Dr. Boamah’s statement is a firm reminder. Challenges may arise, but Ghana’s stability remains a top priority for government leaders.
