Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Visits Oguaa Traditional Council Ahead of PANAFEST 2025
Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Reaches Out to Oguaa Traditional Council in Spirit of Unity Before PANAFEST 2025

As Ghana prepares to host the 2025 PANAFEST celebration in Cape Coast on July 26, Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang paid a respectful courtesy visit to the Oguaa Traditional Council at the Emintsimadze Palace.
The visit was more than ceremonial—it was a reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with traditional authorities to drive national development and cultural unity.
Welcomed by Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, and a host of Queen Mothers, regional leaders, and municipal executives, the Vice President expressed her appreciation for the council’s support and prayers over the years.
“As we move forward, we will count on your continued support,” she said. “If ever we take a path that does not serve the country well, please feel free to advise us—we are not above correction.”
Accompanied by Central Regional Minister Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, Cape Coast Mayor George Justice Arthur, and other dignitaries, the Vice President came bearing donations for the upcoming PANAFEST celebration. Her gesture included crates of soft drinks, bottled water, and whiskey—a traditional show of goodwill and community support.
In a heartwarming moment, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II presented her with a Certificate of Achievement and a commemorative plaque, praising her dedication to public service.
“Your love for humanity has brought you this far,” the Chief said. “Politics is full of challenges, but with God on your side, you will overcome them all.”
Speaking to the significance of the event, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the pivotal role of traditional leaders in national cohesion, culture preservation, and governance. She stressed the need for stronger collaboration between government and traditional institutions as Ghana moves forward.
Adding to the moment, Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Policy Advisor in the Vice President’s Office, pointed to recent government initiatives—including the monthly allowance payments to assembly members—as evidence of the administration’s commitment to grassroots governance.

Looking Ahead to PANAFEST 2025
As PANAFEST 2025 draws closer, this visit to the Oguaa Traditional Council signals more than cultural preparation—it symbolizes unity, partnership, and mutual respect between traditional rulers and government. For Vice President Opoku-Agyemang, it was also a homecoming of sorts—grounded in humility, purpose, and vision.
