The Foreign Ministry is urging passport applicants to update their contact details after delivery failures.

Inaccurate information has led to a surge in undeliverable passports at Ghanaian passport application centers.

Foreign Ministry Alerts Public on Undelivered Passports Due to Wrong Contact Information

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a public advisory urging passport applicants to verify their phone numbers and addresses. This follows a surge in undelivered passports caused by incorrect contact information.

In a statement released on July 23, 2025, the Ministry explained that courier services returned several passports to Passport Application Centres (PACs). These returns happened after failed delivery attempts over a 21-day period.

“Most of the undelivered passports were linked to wrong or incomplete contact details,” the statement noted.

What Applicants Should Do

Here is what passport application centres in Ghana WANT YOU TO KNOW

Applicants who haven’t received their passports are advised to take the following steps:

  • Visit the Passport Application Centre (PAC) where their biometric data was taken
  • Or call the Passport Client Service Unit on 0302 754 200 for assistance

The Ministry emphasized that accurate information is crucial to avoid processing delays.

Call for Caution and Cooperation

Officials are encouraging the public to double-check their entries during the passport application process. Even small errors in phone numbers or addresses can prevent successful delivery.

“We need applicants to be more careful. Mistakes in contact details slow down the entire system,” the Ministry added.

The Ministry also called for stronger cooperation between applicants and service providers to make passport issuance and delivery smoother and faster.
