Bawumia Consoles Families Amid Nation’s Heartbreak

Bawumia consoles families as Ghana mourns eight public servants killed in Wednesday’s helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom.
He described the disaster as a national tragedy that has shaken every citizen.
Accompanied by New Patriotic Party officials, he arrived at Jubilee House. The Chief of Staff and other officials received him.
He laid a wreath and lit a candle in the gardens to honour the victims. They included ministers, senior officials, and military officers.
Speaking afterward, he said the grief belongs to the whole nation, not to political factions.
He promised the NPP would fully participate in all memorial events, calling it a duty owed to the country.
Earlier, Bawumia visited the homes of several victims in Accra.
His first stop was the residence of Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology.
There, he offered condolences to the widow and family members.
He then visited the family of Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator.
Later, he travelled to Teshie to meet relatives of Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, one of three fallen military officers.
At each home, he honoured cultural and religious customs.
He offered prayers for Allah’s mercy and paradise for the Muslim victims.
He prayed for God’s comfort for the family of Squadron Leader Anala.
His tributes formed part of the national mourning period.
The tragedy has united Ghanaians in grief and reflection.
Bawumia urged the nation to draw strength from sorrow and honour the sacrifice of those lost.
