ECG planned maintenance areas for August 21 announced
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the ECG planned maintenance areas for Thursday, August 21, 2025. The exercise, aimed at improving electricity service delivery, will affect several communities in both the Greater Accra and Tema regions. Power outages in Accra will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while Tema communities will experience interruptions between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
In the Greater Accra Region, the areas scheduled for maintenance include Gbawe Gonse, Joma Agbozome, Shiabu, Gbegbeyise Beach Road, Sowutuom, Israel, and Race Course. Other communities on the list are Akropong Larteh, Abiriw, Akwuapem, Mampong, Adukrom, Amanokrom, Obosomase, Awukugua, and Benkum, along with nearby towns.
Tema Region residents in Dawhenya, Abbekope, Kpong, Nuaso, Kpongunor, and Odumase will also face outages. The planned exercise extends to Kojonya, Atua, Sawer, and Somanya. Additional communities such as Dawa, Sege, Korluedor, Addo Kope, Big Ada, Ada Foah, Inglisi, Totope, Azizanya, Treasure Island, and Aqua Safari are included in the schedule.
ECG assured customers that the works form part of its commitment to delivering stable and reliable electricity. The company apologised for the inconvenience but emphasised that the maintenance would help minimise future faults and improve overall service to homes and businesses.
