Helicopter Disaster Claims Squadron Leader Anala’s Life

Helicopter disaster claimed Squadron Leader Peter Abaafeme Anala, a veteran pilot with over 13 years of skill and dedication. Born in Siniesi, Upper East Region, on November 2, 1989, he attended St James Seminary Secondary School and then KNUST.
Afterward, he joined the Ghana Military Academy on June 20, 2013. Soon, he earned his Aircrew Branch commission on October 17. He flew the Z-9 Helicopter at No.8 Heli Wing until his tragic death. Meanwhile, he also served as a devoted husband and father.
Moreover, social media must respect his rank and service. Misinformation and false claims about him must stop immediately. His ability to handle complex flight maneuvers proved his professionalism. Indeed, no one can extinguish his flame. When duty called, he responded with courage. Therefore, Buluk community honors his service deeply. His memory remains a lasting blessing for all.
Tragedy struck his family hard recently. His sister, Grace Lena Anala, died in Virginia, USA, on March 31, 2025. Her burial took place on June 2. Reverend Father Anthony Anala, their younger brother and priest in Mississippi, officiated the funeral. Sadly, Father Anthony died on June 20 and was buried four days later. Then, on August 6, 2025, Squadron Leader Anala died in the helicopter disaster near Adansi, Ashanti Region.
Consequently, notable leaders like former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Members of Parliament visited the family. They offered condolences and support. Their visit followed condolences to families of Alhaji Muniru Mohamed and Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
Ultimately, the helicopter disaster took a courageous pilot and consummate professional. The nation mourns his loss and honors his sacrifice.
