President Mahama Begins Singapore State Visit

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Singapore. He is now on a three-day State Visit. Mahama arrives in Singapore to strengthen bilateral cooperation. He will also expand trade and investment between the two nations. The visit, in fact, aims to advance partnerships in various sectors. These areas include education, science and innovation, urban solutions, and the digital economy. The Ghanaian leader landed this afternoon, which was morning in Ghana.

During the visit, President Mahama will hold bilateral talks. He will meet with the President of Singapore, H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam. He will also hold discussions with the Prime Minister, The Hon. Lawrence Wong. Furthermore, President Mahama will deliver a keynote address at the 8th Africa–Singapore Business Forum (ASBF). He will also headline a Ghana-specific Investment and Business Forum. This event will gather leaders from both the public and private sectors. They will work to unlock new opportunities for both countries.

Upon his arrival, President Mahama spoke on the shared values. He said Ghana and Singapore have a forward-looking outlook. This view is anchored in innovation, skills, and enterprise. The visit, he said, will translate these values into practical cooperation. This will bring Singaporean investment into Ghana. It will also open new pathways for Ghanaian businesses across Southeast Asia.

The president is accompanied by a high-profile delegation. The team includes Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs. It also includes Joyce Bawah Mogtari, an Advisor to the President. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister for Trade and Agribusiness, also joined the delegation. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education, is also present. The Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, also traveled with the team. Other members are Simon Madjie of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and Francis Kwarteng Arthur of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority. Consequently, Mahama arrives in Singapore with a strong team to achieve his goals.
