Man Refuses to Return GHC 15,000 Sent to Wrong Wallet
A dispute has erupted over a mobile money transaction. Yaw Whyte, a sender, is calling out a 64-year-old man online. The man refuses to return GHC 15,000. He allegedly received the money by mistake. The recipient, Mr. Ernest Ofori, reportedly acknowledged the funds. However, he later refused to give them back. Yaw Whyte is now speaking out. Consequently, he has posted details of the dispute on Facebook.
Mr. Ofori, for instance, initially acknowledged receiving the funds. Subsequently, he claimed someone else used his phone. That person, he said, made unauthorized withdrawals. According to Yaw’s account, a family meeting was held. In fact, after this meeting, the Ofori household allegedly decided to keep the money. The family members, including Mr. Ofori’s wife, Bernice, and son, Michael, are aware of the issue. Nevertheless, they have been avoiding Yaw’s calls.
Yaw feels frustrated and betrayed. He gave the family time to do the right thing. In addition, he hoped for a peaceful solution. Yaw now insists he will pursue legal action. He plans to arrest Mr. Ofori at New Tafo. Yaw believes the dispute will go far. “This one will go far, until we arrest him,” he wrote. “When it happens, he’ll definitely have people to plead on his behalf.” Therefore, he is preparing for a public and legal battle.
