Nurses Condemn Ridge Hospital Attack, Demand Swift Justice
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA) strongly condemned the violent attack on healthcare staff at Ridge Hospital. Nurses condemn Ridge Hospital attack on colleagues, highlighting the shocking and unprovoked assault that took place on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The incident prompted the Association’s National Executive Committee to hold an emergency meeting.
GRNMA stated that nurses work tirelessly despite challenges and that aggression against them is unacceptable. They emphasised that frontline staff provide essential services, often risking their safety to care for patients. The Association warned that such attacks threaten the foundation of the healthcare system and reduce the quality of care for patients.
The GRNMA called on hospital management to strengthen security and ensure staff and patient privacy at all times. They urged collaboration with the Ghana Police Service to identify and arrest those responsible for the attack.
