NYA mobilizes youth to drive national sanitation movement

National Youth Authority (NYA) Boss Osman Ayariga C.E.O National Youth Authority mobilizes youth to drive national sanitation movement

First, NYA rallies youth not just for sanitation—but for transformation. On August 2, 2025, thousands of young Ghanaians stepped up across all 16 regions, cleaning gutters, sweeping streets, and restoring pride in public spaces. Their energy did not just tidy cities—it reignited Ghana’s civic spirit.

Next, National Youth Authority CEO Osman Abdullai Ayariga made his stance clear. “The youth are responsible for protecting the environment and keeping it clean!” he declared as he joined volunteers in Accra. His words struck a deeper note. This wasn’t only about sanitation—it was about duty, pride, and national identity.

Moreover, the National Youth Festival 2025 provided the perfect launchpad. Under the theme “Igniting Potential, Inspiring Change,” this nationwide clean-up drew thousands. Young people took brooms instead of waiting for answers. They acted instead of watching.

Then came the message behind the movement. Ayariga believes youth empowerment must move beyond words. “When we ignite the potential of our youth, we inspire change that ripples through communities,” he said. “This shapes lives and builds a prosperous nation.”

Meanwhile, the clean-up campaign wasn’t a one-off. It launched a wave of youth-led activities planned throughout August. These include climate action forums, religious dialogues, health walks against substance abuse, and a grand carnival to close the festival. Every step reflects the NYA’s vision: engaged, informed, and empowered youth shaping their country’s destiny.

Finally, social media lit up with #NYF2025 and #FacilitatingYouthDevelopment. But the real impact wasn’t online. It showed up in cleaner towns, proud smiles, and a clear message—Ghana’s youth aren’t waiting. They’re leading.

Ghana must follow.

Now is the time to support youth-led action, invest in sustainable initiatives, and carry this energy beyond festivals and hashtags. Because when NYA rallies youth, Ghana rises with them.
