The founder of Kristo Asafo Church and the Kantanka Group, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has passed away. His daughter, Sarah Adwoa Safo, confirmed the sad news on Sunday morning. According to her statement, the well-known preacher, inventor, and philanthropist died peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025. This marks a great loss for Ghana. Apostle Safo was a genius. He was a beacon of hope for many people. He was also a father to the fatherless. Many people knew him as “The Star of Africa.” He founded the Great KOSA network of companies. He was also Chairman of the Kantanka Group of Companies.
The Safo Family and the Kristo Asafo Church have announced the peaceful passing of Ghana’s beloved man of God. The Apostle Kwadwo Safo passes after a long life dedicated to invention and philanthropy. The family’s statement requested privacy. It also promised to announce funeral arrangements in the coming days. The statement described him as a “true genius” and “a true legend.” It said his unique persona was shaped by his “life struggles, dreams, resilience, courage, determination and dedication.”
Apostle Safo was also a notable innovator and industrialist. His work in science and technology gave hope to many Ghanaians. He also established himself as a physicist, chemist, and agriculturalist. His legacy includes the development of local vehicles under the Kantanka brand. This work challenged the overreliance on foreign imports.
