Vote for Bediako: Mahama Endorses NDC Candidate
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has a clear message for Akwatia voters. He urged them to support Bernard Bediako in the upcoming by-election. Speaking to party supporters, Debrah conveyed President John Dramani Mahama’s appeal. Mahama wants to work with the candidate in his government. In fact, this is the main reason for his visit.
Debrah’s message formed part of the NDC’s campaign. The Akwatia by-election is scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025. It has drawn significant interest. Both the ruling party and the opposition NPP are highly invested. Consequently, the campaigns are very competitive.
Debrah called on constituents to translate their support into votes. He stressed that an NDC victory would strengthen the government’s partnership with Akwatia. This partnership would, in turn, advance development projects. The by-election was necessary because the area’s Member of Parliament, Ernest Kumi, passed away.
Already, two polls favor the NDC candidate. A survey by Sanity Africa places Bediako ahead of his opponent. Global Info Analytics also projects a lead for Bediako. The Akwatia voters must now make a decision. A vote for Bediako is a vote for progress. The voters’ choice will impact their community’s future. The by-election will not change the balance of power in Parliament. However, it will decide who represents the constituency. Therefore, every single vote for Bediako matters.
