Police intercept gang on Tutuka-Akrofuom road, arrest one

Obuasi Police disrupted a planned robbery on the Tutuka-Akrofuom road and arrested one armed suspect. This operation took place on August 3, 2025, after a swift response to a distress call from motorists.
When the police team arrived at the scene, they spotted a group of armed men attempting to flee into a nearby bush. The robbers abandoned two unregistered motorbikes and a machete during the escape.
The officers pursued the gang through the thickets and captured Pascal Yenkye. He sustained a leg injury while trying to escape on a motorbike. The police arrested him and placed him under guard for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, security agencies have launched a full-scale manhunt for the other suspects who managed to flee. Authorities believe the gang is behind a string of recent attacks in the area.
