Bawumia Consoles Families After Ashanti Helicopter Tragedy: Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia visited President John Mahama on Saturday. He offered consolation after the tragic helicopter crash.

The crash claimed two ministers and six other officials’ lives last Wednesday in Ashanti.

Bawumia arrived with New Patriotic Party officials and past government members.

He expressed deep condolences to President Mahama, grieving families, and the nation.

He called the loss a national tragedy that unites all Ghanaians in sorrow.

Bawumia also visited the family of the late Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah.

There, he offered sympathy and stood with them in their grief.

On August 6, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah confirmed the crash deaths.

The victims include Dr Omane Boamah; Environment Minister Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; and former Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Samuel Sarpong.

Also lost were Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed and Samuel Aboagye, former MP and NDC National Vice Chairman.

The crash claimed the lives of three crew members as well: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

Bawumia consoles families while his visits symbolize national mourning and shared grief.

He urged unity and strength to overcome this heartbreaking loss.
