Kenpong Confirms He Is Fine After Winneba Beach Road Accident
Businessman, sports administrator, and philanthropist Kennedy Agyapong, popularly known as Kenpong, has reassured the public that he is doing well after being involved in a road accident on Friday, August 8, 2025, along the Winneba Beach Road.
According to Cedirates.com Kenpong confirmed he sustained only a cut on his upper eyelid and dismissed false social media reports suggesting the incident was fatal.
“No, I’m OK. I’m doing very fine and currently in Winneba. All is well. I had a cut on my eyelid, but all is well,” he stated.
Kenpong explained that the accident occurred while he was driving from Accra to Winneba feeling tired. He breached a wall along the Winneba Beach Road, causing part of it to collapse onto his vehicle. Despite the damage, no lives were lost.
The entrepreneur said he had just seen off Kelvin Kojo Fosu, son of the late highlife music legend Daddy Lumba, who was returning to Germany, before making the journey during which the accident occurred.
Kenpong, head of the Kenpong Group of Companies, is a major figure in Ghana’s business and sports sectors. His conglomerate has investments in telecom engineering, construction, tourism, sports, and bottled water production. He is also known for his long-standing friendship with Daddy Lumba and his commitment to supporting youth development through the Kenpong Football Academy.
His reassurance comes as a relief to supporters and well-wishers, many of whom had flooded social media with prayers after initial unverified reports suggested a more serious outcome.
