EOCO’s Raymond Archer targets more Ghanaian musicians
Ghanaian media personality Blakk Rasta issued a stark warning. According to him, Ghanaian musicians face scrutiny from the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO). This comes amid the ongoing investigation into dancehall artiste Shatta Wale. Consequently, Blakk Rasta’s comments suggest a much wider crackdown on the music industry. The artist believes EOCO’s new boss, Raymond Archer, is actively monitoring other musicians.
News broke on Thursday that EOCO detained Shatta Wale. For instance, officials are investigating the musician for various alleged crimes. These include money laundering, possession of criminal proceeds, tax fraud, and tax evasion. Prior to the detention, authorities seized the artist’s 2019 Lamborghini Urus. This vehicle reportedly links to an FBI case. Ultimately, Shatta Wale was a person of interest in that case. Many people wonder what comes next for the musician.
Blakk Rasta shared his thoughts on his “Boiling Pot” show. “Raymond Archer is working on some huge projects that I am privy to,” he revealed. He then warned, “If he continues in that direction, things will happen.” Blakk Rasta insisted Shatta Wale is not alone. In fact, he said many of his colleagues have illegal revenue sources. “This is not the end of artistes involved in criminal activities, including car theft, buying stolen cars and objects,” he added. “There are more artistes from Ghana who are going to come up. Shatta Wale is not the only artiste.”
Furthermore, Blakk Rasta criticized artists who use music to launder money. “They are not supposed to be called artistes,” he stated. “They are criminals. Some are into the music but have no talent. It’s just for them to do money laundering. They call it washing.” He admitted, “We have a few names.” Blakk Rasta expressed personal satisfaction with the crackdown. “My excitement is that at the end of the day, Ghana is going to be the winner,” he said. Ultimately, this proves that Ghanaian musicians face scrutiny for their activities. This major development suggests a shift in the Ghanaian entertainment landscape. Many people now wonder who EOCO will target next.
