Immigration Officer’s Murder Case Adjourned to October 9
The Adabraka District Court has just postponed the Immigration officer’s murder case. A new hearing date is now set for October 9, 2025. This decision provides prosecutors with more time for investigations. The late Stephen King Amoah went missing two months earlier; consequently, his body was found five days before this hearing. The prime suspect, Bright Aweh, and the second accused, Thomas Zigah, appeared in court. Prosecutors requested a one-month extension for their remand. They require more time for forensic analysis. Furthermore, they need more time for ongoing inquiries. The court granted their request, and as a result, both suspects will remain in custody.
The counsel for the second accused, Gordon Aboagye, maintained his client’s innocence. He expressed readiness to prove this in court. The lawyer also raised concerns about a lack of information on the accused’s detention. Moreover, he emphasized that families should receive access to them. Families need to provide necessities and confer with their loved ones. However, he made a plea to the deceased officer’s family. He asked them to allow due process to work. “It is not easy to lose a loved one,” he said. “But we are on our bended knees to allow the law to work. We are not enemies.”
The presiding judge then cautioned the family against taking the law into their own hands. Such actions, after all, could result in legal consequences. Meanwhile, a dramatic scene unfolded outside the court. The aunt of the late Stephen King Amoah performed rituals. She broke eggs and invoked curses. Her curses were aimed at those she believes are responsible for his death. She cursed, “Anyone responsible for his death should also suffer the same fate. All your generation will suffer the same fate; the gods should deal ruthlessly with anyone responsible for his death, the gods shouldn’t spare anyone involved in his murder.”
This powerful scene shows the emotional toll of the crime. The Immigration officer’s murder case continues. It has deeply affected the community. This adjournment, therefore, extends the time for a thorough investigation. It will hopefully lead to a just outcome. The entire country now watches the legal process unfold.
